Valentine challenge at Crazy About Cricut

This is my Valentine project for Crazy About Cricut. You can find the challenge here at: http://www.crazyaboutcricut.blogspot.com/

I sized my digi (from www.Scrapbookstampsociety.com) the size that I wanted it in Inkscape. Then made the size circle I wanted, and outside scalloped circle in Inkscape and cut them on my cricut. I then Printed out the design on a regular piece of paper, once I knew where they would cut, I put my white circle on that paper and ran it through the printer again. I then tied the ribbon around the glass candle holder and held it in place with some small glue dots.

Exciting News! Momenta D-Lite Team

I have been bursting at the seams to get this news out! I was asked to be on the Momenta D-Lite Team.

The D-Lite will be responsible for providing feedback on products, helping ensure that every product meets Momenta's high standards for quality and design as well as providing insight to help them shape what their future products are!

How exciting does that sound? I am super duper excited. I can't wait to get started as soon as I receive my new products.

I ran across the Thankful photo challenge at DL.ART blog. http://dianamlarson.blogspot.com Of course the first thing you think of is your family, but you are not allowed to say who you are thankful for, but what you are thankful for.

My mind started to think, and it would still be the time I spend with my family. Our best family time is spent CAMPING. No running water, No electricity, just the four of us, a lake, a rowboat, and a pop-up camper. We love it. We spend time fishing, swimming, walking trails, geocaching, playing games, charades, cards, ring toss, bocci ball.

My favorite thing is our pop up camper because I hate sleeping on the hard ground.

Winter Wonderland Hop day 2

For my project I made snowflakes with Sherri Baldy's digi stamp in the middle. You can find this stamp at http://www.scrapbookstampsociety.com/

I cut the snowflake on the cricut/scal. I also used the cricut markers to outline the snowflake. Then I used a rubber stamp and stamped all over it to give it color. There is a hole cut out at the top to hang with fish string, but when I did that and took a photo you couldn't see it very well. You get the idea.

My project is for my two son's girlfriends. I know they will love the cute digi designed by Heather Valentin called Lil Sophia Hot Chocolate. I found out today that she has matching ribbon with Lil Sophia on it. I wish I would have found out about that sooner because that would have looked so cute with my gifts.

This candle and matching card was so easy to make. I taped tissue paper onto cardstock and ran it through my printer to print out Lil Sophia. Colored it with markers, then with my heat embossing gun I melted the tissue right onto the candle. I put a robe, the candle, and matching card into the box for the girls for Christmas. I can't wait for them to open it.

Here is my first try. My little white mouse with sparkly background. I made the mouse from the four legged friend cartridge. Then bent his tail to curl back around so he could hold an ornament on it and still have his tail on the card. I made a 4 inch mouse so I didn't have much room. I went back and added little black dots and dashes as an outline around my mouse and like it so much better.

For my project I have created this Thanksgiving card and 2 bookmarks. The image on the card is from a free print coloring page. The image on the bookmarks is from a wood stamp. The paper used on the card is DCWV box of notecards, they come already embossed, you just chalk to color them, and then decorate how you like. So easy.

Epilepsy is a medical condition that produces different types of seizures. It affects 50 million people worldwide. If you would like to read more information about Epilepsy you can go to the Epilepsy foundation online at : http://www.epilepsyfoundation.org/

Epilepsy affects my family in a BIG way! I was diagnosed with Grand Mal seizures at 8 years old, after having a seizure riding on the back of a motorcycle going down the highway. My epilepsy is well controlled on Dilantin. I do have break-thru seizures if I miss a dose of medicine, try the generic form, or if I don't get enough sleep. Those are a few of my triggers that I try to avoid.

Dale is my oldest son. We found out he had epilepsy when he was in his late high school years. He was diagnosed incorrectly as Attention Deficit Disorder. Dale has atonic seizures and absense seizures. Dale takes Depakote to control his seizures. Generic medications have not been helpful for him.

This is my youngest son Alex. We found out in his Senior year that he has Epilepsy too. His seizures are more of a simple jerk of his shoulders and neck that look like a shiver. He is taking Depakote, and not happy with this medicine.

He went from 135 to 180 in a manner of just 3 months.

This card was so easy to make. I used Tina Fitch's svg file of Let is Snow (you can find this at Forever Memories) I used blue gems, and white snowflake eyelets. I really like how it turned out and ended up making 4 of them, 3 in white, and this one in blue.

Christmas tag booklet

This is the coolest project I have made in a long time. I found the tutorial on stamptv along with a challenge.

The inside of the card is actually two envelopes that are fastened together. They make great pockets for inside of the booklet. The tags inside would make cute gift tags or Christmas ornaments.

I love this little stamp. I stamped the image onto white cardstock, then stamped the upper part of the image again onto patterned paper. Cut the umbrella out, added a foam square under it for depth and placed it over the first image. Thanks for looking.

Another card I made for the LUFP . The white paper is embossed with a cuttlebug folder. The inner white piece has been debossed around the outer edges. Its colored with prisma color pencils.

Cheery card, I embossed the outer white card with a heart pattern on my cuttlebug. Then I hand embossed the design in the middle with a metal stencil. You can't tell by my photo but the design is raised. I really like how it turned out.

Someone sent me some lovely letters on sticky foam. They are too big for me to use on anything, but I didn't want to toss them away and I knew I would come up with something some day. They are so pretty. I finally got the idea of what to use them for, when I read about the altering challenge at http://www.hidinginmycraftroom.com/ I took the letters and cut them apart into strips, to make a lovely shadow box frame. It worked great.

This was the first time for making a bow like this, it was super easy, maybe a bit big. I love the colors.

Day 2 project- Bookmark with beach themed ribbon. Question- Is it bookmark or is it bookmarker? I am a 40 year old woman and this question is just now coming to me. On to my project: I made a birthday card with a hula girl. The skirt is made from prima flowers cut apart and layered on. The design is a coloring page that was printed out. I added a calendar month and colored in the date of my MIL birthday since this card is going to her.

House Mouse Flying- 2 challenges

The challenge today at http://creationsbygillm.blogspot.com was to create something that flies. I had this House Mouse stamp that I hadn't tried out yet so thought it was perfect for the challenge, since she is flying on a paper napkin. I used a magazine page for the background.

The flowers from the magazine ad, reminded me of the challenge going on over at : http://www.4craftychicks.blogspot.com/ there are flower pots hanging on the wall with purple and green. The door is bright blue, and this card also takes that shape of the doorway.

DT Call at StampingDragonDesigns

I brought the image into Inkscape, sized it, then made a shadowed image, duplicated it, and welded it together to make a card, then cut it on the Cricut. This was my best shot. Wish me luck. This card looks so much better in person. The horse and rocks are all heat embossed with a shiny glaze. Those are horseshoes along the edge, I pushed a little too hard with my stamp, so they are skewed a bit. Overall I still like the card, will leave the sentiment for later when I have a reason to send it.
